#WhatsBloomingWednesday - Flowering Dogwood or Cornus florida

Flowering Dogwoods are a native small deciduous tree that can grow in full sun to partial shade. It grows 15-30’ tall and has a somewhat flat-topped growth habit. They are a great understory or specimen tree. They produce a fruit after flowering that is edible and have excellent fall color. You can find many dogwoods around Zoo grounds.

@Jupmode, for the win!

Thanks for the heads up about one of our vintage panda shirts appearing in the NBC hit show, AP Bio!

How many of you had, still have, or got the re-make of this amazing wearable?

I still have a never worn t-shirt from the '88 pandas!

I think I still have mine. I was 8 so it doesn't fit me now.

1988!!! These shirts started my panda collection; my first one was the bright yellow tshirt. My aunt worked at Owens Tech at the time, and the bookstore was inundated with panda merchandise, and I received it all! :-) My grandmother was in the hospital during this time as well, and we would drive in and spend the weekends with her. One weekend, my mom called my dad at home and told him to call all of us kids off school, and we stayed the extra Monday to see the pandas!

Not anymore, but I do still have the coffee mug

My kids have my keychains!

Still have, and use, my panda apron! Becky!

I think I had one of these shirts!

I worked the gate when the pandas were there and still have the t-shirt as well as a set of glass mugs! 😁

I still have the mugs 😎

I had the red t-shirt! This show is kind of stupid- I watch it purely for the Toledo references!

I still have a mug. Got married and visited the zoo to see the pandas on the same day!

I had a purple shirt

I had that shirt and maybe in that same color, too! Great flashback!

I don't have it anymore but I remember having it years ago

I was involved in the Pennies for Pandas when I was in girl scouts.

Got an original!!!

I had a lavender and a turquoise blue shirt.

I remember those!

I had a mug. Maybe a t-shirt?

Still have the blue t-shirt, Toledo, 1988.

Yes, I had something like that!!

Still have it somewhere

No but it remember them

I had one of those!!

Still have!

It's not wise for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to disrespect the artists that make the music... www.youtube.com/embed/umI7MkgwS7M

Induct Tommy James, Guess Who, Three Dog Night, Jethro Tull, Styx, Grand Funk Railroad, Pat Benatar, etc.

Drew Stone is THE MAN!!!!! My first time at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame back in 1999 with Bioahazard was with Drew Stone <3

He's got good taste in music!

Killer Documentary.

Happy birthday Iggy Pop - the one, the only, the joyous rocker who invites the whole crowd to share his induction onstage. ...

Iggy Pop sucks

Was that Eddie Vedder up there?

Green Day ruins everything it touches.

When is Iggy getting inducted as Iggy Pop, who's career was independent of the Stooges (and who have all passed away)?

I just realized this is the first time I've seen iggy pop with a shirt on

Iggy's best HoF moment was when he paid tribute to Madonna at her induction, improving her songs and sitting on Justin Timberlake's lap. (Now that's bringing sexy back)

Pat Benatar and Bad Co also need to be inducted. But not more deserving than Iggy.

Far more deserving to be in the fame before this guy and Joan Baez and add Lou Reed..Just to name two Bad Company and Pat Benatar and many others

I miss Tom Snyder!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

That was wild!

Happy Birthday Iggy!!

Nós!

A sweet song of salvation to commemorate 2004 Inductee Prince's memory today - watch the 2017 Lenny Kravitz tribute performance of "The Cross" ...

Comment on Facebook

Out of any Prince tribute I've seen, this is head and shoulders above them all. Lenny was the perfect choice. The choir....just chills. And the song...well, lets just say the people who only know the radio pop hits are in for a great discovery <3

From the 1987 album Sing of the time What a beautiful music and words..We miss Prince. We miss him so much

I'm so proud of Lenny doing a tribute to Prince

Love this song. Great job Lenny!

Bert Ludwig, mooi eerbetoon aan die kleine gigant!

So lovely 💕

2017 Inductee Bill Bruford of Yes Live Interview. ...

Comment on Facebook

Hey everyone! In just a few minutes we'll start our live interview with 2017 Inductee Bill Bruford! Stay tuned...

Thank you everyone for joining!!

Audience Q&A time...in Cleveland and on Facebook!

Hearing some amazing stories tonight, straight from the source...

He went there!

Favorite YES songs...GO!

Sounds like Dr. Bruford had a similar introduction to rock as many fans out there...The King! Hmmm... that word rings a bell 🤔

Wave to Dr. Jason Hanley everyone 😂

And we're rolling! Interview first, Q&A to follow...submit your questions here!

Any fellow drummers out there? 🥁

Great questions so far, FB friends...keep em coming!

.....there must of been many arguments with respect to accents, syncopations and cadences within the band while recording. Was there? The complexity of the music seem to demand it..lol

Does a complete film of the Trick of the Tail tour exist and if so has there ever been talk of expanding the existing 44 minute version of the Tony Maylam film?

Do you ever wish that you could have contributed to Yes’ “Tales” as a piece of music closer to crimsons style?

Besides practicing, does Bill do special exercises or physical therapy to enhance his coordination? I'm not a drummer, would love to know.

Allan Holdsworth and Chris Squire. Any good memories that you can remember that you could share with us regarding those two legends?

Bill, Crimson, UK, ABWH, et al. Are there any musicians you haven't worked with that you would like to do a project with?

This has been really fun and fascinating to watch! Thanks very much to Bill and to the RRHOF for presenting it!

Bon Jovi sucks through a long straw. Pop nonsense. Here is an opportunity to listen to a real musician. Enjoy :)

BBBB = Bill Bruford and Barrie Barlow = excellence

Alan White was a excellent replacement. King Crimson was a proper next step.

For many years y'all could care less about Yes/Prog Rock.

More ballsy music than Yes.

why did you leave Yes for King Crimson?

Bill Bruford is criminally underrated!
