Was 72° in Barberton today...Prayers for my daughter Tammy who was diagnosed with brain cancer and is in a nursing home

So many OLDER news people ((like me) did the pick and peck version of typing. I learned touch typing. I have lost all the letters on my keyboard and can still type by the touch system.

Good evening Andre!!! I am home :) I can't thank you enough for praying, the power of prayer and the word is so powerful!!!

I learned to type faster after my 3rd reconstruction surgery with my left arm my wrist was shattered now I can type 68 wpm.

I think it's seasonal allergy. Everyone has it today. Including myself and a lot of friends and family.

Hi Andre', Loved today. Try Pineapple juice from a real pineapple not CAN...for cough.

Visiting from Reno, love the 70s! It was colder in Reno with 30s today. Good to be back in Chesterland!

Ya Noah is around 21 or 22 I think because my youngest is 22.

Hi Andre....the forecast has been awesome....Debbie from Geneva 😀

Beautiful day today Andre, Have a blessed evening. I'm enjoying my day off! 😇😇

good Eve André!! Think Shelby will get foot of snow by end of winter????????

I will go back there, and yours one Bless you, yes we went to the same Church when Noah was little.

What would you do if we ALL showed up in person one night for a fireside chat?

Great weather here in Uniontown love your fireside chats.

Good evening Andre! 67 in West Salem this evening. Have a good evening!

It brought the flies and bees out today

We have a secret admirer! Actually, this person appears to be a secret supporter of the OPD. While a group of officers were eating lunch at LaRosa's today, our supporter bought EACH of them a $25 gift card. How nice is that? Our officers were very touched by the gesture and wanted to thank them. It's not the monetary value that gives us the feels, it's the thought that truly counts. ...

Hi Andre , Earlier today a house exploded only a few houses away from my own . I'm sure it will be reported by Fox8 tonight on Denison Ave . It was a natural gas explosion . Can you tell me if weather can cause something like that to occur or more like foul play ?

WEEKEND UPDATE:
> A 25-year-old male was stopped because he had warrants through OPD. We found he had meth and needles on him. The county jail found some other substance hidden away in a very “awkward” spot. (hint: latex gloves were required.) That mystery substance is being sent to the lab for examination.

> Chivalry is dead. Or at least non-existent when one is drunk. Officers were sent uptown for a male and female who were both so drunk they were having trouble standing up, much less walking. Once the police approached them, the male let go of the female, to whom he was offering physical support, and ran away. Just to make sure you caught that..when the police came, he dropped her and ran away (self-centered much?) He was caught by OPD’s star runner, Officer Butler, who easily caught up with him. The female ended up at the hospital and the male was picked up…by his mother.

> Here are a couple stories to give you a different perspective on officer safety. Think about what YOU would think or do in these situations:

---- Officers were sent to a domestic call. Once there, and after the officer had the male drop his multiple pocket knives on the ground, the male suddenly bolted toward the back bedrooms in the apartment. Officer Reihs pursued him so he could not get his hands on other weapons, and the male was quickly subdued. Thankfully, in this case, Officer Reihs was keenly aware and responsive. We do not know why the guy decided to run or what he was planning on doing. Domestics can be extremely unpredictable and dangerous for police officers.

---- While on a traffic stop and seated in the front seat of his cruiser, an officer observed a male walking toward him. The man was walking with purpose, almost aggressively, while talking to himself. The officer, Officer Butler, got out of the driver’s seat and verbally tried to get the guy to back off. The guy aggressively continued his path until he reached the officer and got so close the officer pushed him away and made space between them. Officer Butler, although ready to protect himself, was successful in talking him down and calming the situation without any additional physical force. The male subject was taken to the psychiatric unit at a local hospital a short time later. Keep in mind, along with this unpredictable and volatile person, the officer also had to be aware of the whereabouts of the driver or passengers of the car he had stopped.

> An officer was flagged down by a female claiming her purse was stolen and the suspect ran off. Officers found him and observed him throw the purse over the fenced in dumpster area at a nearby convenience store. The male was arrested and it was determined that all of the contents of the purse were intact. The male, who she knew and had gotten into an argument with just prior, was arrested and charged.

> Party fouls: multiple mistakes were made by those who partied too hard or too foolishly. From something so simple as walking down the street drinking a beer (we are not New Orleans and have NEVER allowed this) to passing out in a stranger’s living room, to waking up not knowing how your face got beat up, people put themselves in some bad positions. As the weather gets warmer, we’re hoping for good judgment to prevail. Fingers crossed!

Monday is coming to a close. We think Mondays should be optional. May every day this week get better and better for you!

Ohio University

We have a great #TBT to share today...even though it's not Thursday! In honor of Presidents Day, this video takes a look back at some of the visits to OHIO by former U.S. presidents. Enjoy!

Check out plaques commemorating visits to campus by these and other distinguished history makers on the West Portico of the University’s Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

Wasn’t there other Presidents to visit O.U. Before Hoover?

Remember it well! Was there with my Parents. Was a little too big to stay on Dad's Shoulders, so I crawled between people to get up front.

When outside walk with a purpose of where you are going. Attitude lock the door. Don’t be Duped. Be Aware. Sorry. It’s a sign of the Times. You cannot hear it preached enough. See Sumpin, Say Sumpin.
