New Vermont law used to keep school shooting plot suspect from getting gun

2018-04-17T01:50:37+0000

A day after Vermont's governor signed a package of gun control measures, one of the new laws was used to keep a school shooting plot suspect from possessing dangerous weapon.

A superior court judge signed an extreme risk protection order Thursday saying Jack Sawyer, 18, poses an extreme risk of physical harm to himself and others.

Cleveland Browns

After 11 seasons, Joe Thomas officially retired as a Cleveland Brown.

A look behind the scenes at his retirement press conference:
...

Comment on Facebook

Didn’t know Cleveland had a team.

Barkley #1 Mayfield#4

It's sad to see him leave Joe Thomas Cleveland Browns the one part of our team we can say they would always be in our hearts till next time Joe Thomas

Are we going to draft a Quarterback like Baker Mayfield or just try to get Nick foles ?

Joe Thomas wishing you all the best. Thank you

Try having Cleveland Browns on your arms and cat to their for life that's the best thing ever in it feels good to have my favorite football team on my arms

Thank you for all of the hard work and all of the passion you brought with you, every single day. I think the hardest part about you retiring is not that we are losing an all time great player but because we are losing an all time great person. Not just a leader on the field but a leader in the locker room.

The best all time left tackle,a true gentleman.you will be missed an your a true inspiration to what a true browine is.

Going to miss you Joe!! You have been the rock of this team... sure hope the Browns are smart enough to keep you around in some capacity!

Thanks for sticking with us Joe.. will always be a fan!

Go BROWNS!!

WE LOVE YOU JOE!!!

Was rizzo there?

Cleveland Browns

The schedule is set!

Breaking down our 2018 slate:
...

Comment on Facebook

NYJ, TB, LAC, CAR, HOU and 2 possibly 3 wins in the Division. 7-9 with a chance at 8-8

Gonna absolutely struggle for 1. Could beat the Jets but they would really have to catch them on a bad day to pull the upset.

This is the year we see a few dubs and start heading in the right direction🐶🐶🐶🐶

Ill be at the Tampa game. Ill be the loudest mf behind the vistors bench.

5th toughest schedule in the NFL , that doesn't help .

For the love good can the NFL kick us in the bawls any harder!

Tyrod can get through this gauntlet if he gets a line....and better play from TE!! 1 week away to see what week 1 will look like? Go Browns!!

Stupid to even speculate on wins. This team has won 1 game in two years. Let’s hope with smart moves in the draft this team can cobble together a few wins and build a base for 2019

Beating the Steelers week 1. Mark it down.

Tied as 5th toughest schedule in the NFL. SMH.

Love this years Schedule. The BROWNS will be in Tampa baby!

Every win is a steal, so take no prisoners

Josh Allen fits that schedule. Get it done!!!!

Wish they would come to Carolina or Atlanta, so I could go. Is it sad that four wins would be an improvement?

You are smart to bring Jeff Janis to the team! I will now be a Browns fan & look forward to getting to know your team better🧡

"Here we go Dawgies, Here we go!!"

I don't see how Hue will have a job after this season

With this schedule and Hue Jackson coaching 2, maybe 3 wins.

Tough schedule. 5 - 11 is a good bet

Browns get a chance at 10-6 to make the playoff in 2018

15-1

They may have a chance when they get rid of Huebert.. !!

5-11 at best

Does Hue get fired for starting off 0-6?

4-12

The police officers can almost tell who is riding dirty. It's their jobs, and they do it very well.

"Turn signal violation". If you hadn't found drugs you would have hit him with something else that he would have mailed in the fine for to avoid going back to your shithole state.

Finally!!! A solid good bust instead of weed!

If government really wanted heroin off the streets they’d leave Afghanistan and stop protecting the opium industry. But busts like this keep the prisons full and politicians’ pockets fat.

Good job to the officer K-9.and his fellow officers.

Thank you for getting it off the streets! AND GO, haters......

Awesome! You Troopers are best in the drug busting business. Keep up the great work. 😎

The dog smelled heroin through a vacuum seeled package and lock box buried inside the car? And criminal indicators where observed ? Lol SOMEBODY SNITCHIN

Good job officer ! Thank you for your service..

Good job officers thank you for your service keep it up God bless you and your families

Great! Keep that illegal contraband from further distributions. It's poison and needs destroyed. Thank you.

Finally! Someone pulled over for a turn signal violation! I wish this was enforced more often because almost no one uses them anymore! Jack

Great another one bites the dusts keep up the good work.

Awesome job and thank you for your service

Good work, keep sharp, keep safe.

Good bust troopers. Keep up the good work. Be safe out there.

The dogs did their job way to go puppy dogs I love dogs so much they're very smart and they know how to work it's just a shame a lot of people don't know much about the love and Trust and companion of a dog

Good job troops ! Keep up the great work.

Hell yeah great jobs troopers, keep up the good work keeping that crap off the streets. Thank you

GOOD job..live OUR OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS... PRAY FOR THEIR SAFETY

Great job😁 take all the dealers down

Great job!! Keep doing what you're doing & stay safe!!

Beautiful job ! Keep up the good work !

Great Job! Keep up the good work OSHP. Lets just hope these heroin pushing criminals get the maximum sentence.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct an OVI checkpoint in Greene County. Drive sober!

Comment on Facebook

I don't think State Highway Patrol or any police should have to notify people of OVI check points. The way I see it you should obey the laws and stay off the road if you been drinking.

They’re required to publicly announce these checkpoints.

I dont have nothing to worry about i don't drink

Good luck troops...a drunk removed from the road is a life saved.

Sadly, I wish they didn’t have to say. I almost lost a uncle in August of 2016 and he just had his EIGHTH surgery A FEW DAYS AGO and it was his sons birthday because a drug driver!! He had to be life flighted and everything. They had to make changes to their house. My cousins were in and out of school while he was in the hospital in PA. Sad part is police were called and just couldn’t get to the guy in time. But ones who have a fit over it. Imagine yourself and your family having to go through what mine did. It’s not worth it. And I find it sad they have to treat adults like middle schoolers.

Thank you OSP!

Thank you guy from www.moveoverohio.com

Thank you for your service ,stay safe out there .I remember reading about a sobriety check where a driver was so drunk ,he just barreled right through it . Luckily no serious injuries.

THANK YOU OSHP!

take the Next of Kin forms with you and pass those out it is a great tool for Police and Family. When people have their 2 Emergency contacts w/ their driver's license Police will know who to locate easier Please do this for your family. #forever23DavidMoney sites.google.com/site/davidmoneynextofkincom/

And I just want to say that we are blessed to have this post here in Delaware. Just the other night troopers stopped a vehicle in our drive through that was stolen and handled everything perfectly. Awesome troopers! They even picked up the trash that was left from having to search the vehicle!

Bottom one reminds me of Woooster Ohio

Lesson 1: Target every out of state driver, pull them over for not using a signal, hoping for a drug bust while the other 100 dealers with Ohio plates drive by.

I think many do, but wont meet the requirements.

Boy, that's tough stuff!! I could never have done that!!!

WEEKEND UPDATE: Here’s a sample of some highlights from the weekend.
> There were 38 EMS runs this weekend with 12 that were alcohol/drug related and 10 that were fire-related calls. Two females overdosed and were revived with Narcan.
> Lots of parents were in Oxford this weekend, keeping that ever-present supervision of their college kids and problems at bay. Many organizations had out-of-town trips to Tennessee this weekend, so hopefully, Nashville and Gatlinburg PD never got acquainted with those MU students.
> More warrants were served, which is quite the consistent theme the last few weeks. Stay out of Oxford if you have a warrant since we seem to have superpowers in warrant-detection lately.
> We received a report of a man buying gas on his former employer’s account. This has been going on for several months and had apparently slipped through the cracks somehow at the workplace. Here’s a tip for employers: upon the release of an employee, review and deny their access to the company accounts. Doing this may take some time on the front end, but it’s better than paying for 5 months-worth of someone’s gas!
> A credit monitoring agency caught an illegitimate loan taken out in a man’s name (identity theft scenario.) The agency contacted the man and gave him a heads up. Because of the notification, he was able to put a stop to the loan and keep his credit intact. In another case, a conscientious debit card holder noticed unauthorized activity on her card and quashed it immediately before any more damage was done. Follow these examples--it certainly pays to vigilantly monitor your accounts.
> An 18-year-old male jaywalked and stumbled in front of cars that had the green traffic light. He actually had to be held up by the officer to keep from falling. A 17-year-old female was found stumbling through a cemetery. We’re dying to know why she was there, but she was so drunk she was unable to explain.
> There was an early (12:30pm) OVI crash, in which the vehicle struck a parked car and a tree. The driver is suspected of having drugs and alcohol on board. Lab results are pending.
> A couple spent the night in a house, and in a bed, that wasn’t theirs. In fact, no one in that house knew who they were, but assumed someone else did. After the couple left, the residents all put their heads together and realized they just provided the romantic crash pad for this couple for the night. Good time now to do some laundry.
> And a “shout out” to the older gentleman at the Oxford restaurant this afternoon who asked what I was doing lollygagging and eating lunch when I should be writing this update instead. Love him!

It’s April 16th and it’s 35 degrees, snowing and windy in Oxford, Ohio. Totally ridiculous. Have a super week, everyone—let the warm days begin!

Great update, despite the disappointment in certain behaviors. Thank you all for what you do.

This always makes my Monday!

Thank you as always! You folks are appreciated!

Thanks as always for doing these. Funny and kindof sad at the same time.

Seems it's not safe to be in Oxford on the weekends!

I feel safer in Oxford with our top notch police force then anywhere.

Haha love it especially the part of your die ing to know

Thanks for the update! You are a great department!

Thanks for sharing

You're the best Laura! Love the lollygagging 😂

Thanks laura and opd. For keeping our streets safe for our children..and ourselves...

Can you arrest Mother Nature? She’s off her rocker and has got to be breaking some sort of law by providing this type of weather.

Now i know why i have to wait so long to see the weekend update.lol
