In case you missed it: Fourth District Police Commander Brandon Kutz touted the raid as a win for the beleaguered Fourth District, which encompasses the southeast quadrant of the city and is the city's busiest police district.

A sophisticated marijuana growing operation raided Friday netted an estimated 300 pounds of marijuana, along with another 250 plants, police said.

Warning for Oxford residents: we've had a couple package thefts reported the last couple of days. We did make an arrest on one of the thefts yesterday, but thought it would be a good idea to give everyone some package delivery tips:

> Reschedule/reroute the package delivery
> Require signature upon delivery
> Install front door security camera (cheaper than you may think)
> Have packages delivered to your workplace
> Package alarms (kinda cool) or package security box.
> Smart package lockers (look up Amazon Locker)

We've also had several thefts from vehicles the last few days. Call the police if you see anyone or anything suspicious--it always helps to catch the criminal in the act.

This would be hilarious if someone decided to take my live insects...

Lol i would lile to see that

Another suggestion- if at all possible, have the sender of the package either write or stamp “warning: venomous snakes inside handle with care”.

WARRANT WEDNESDAY

This is it...the one you've been waiting for! We mentioned in the April 9th WEEKEND UPDATE that we might feature this person in a future WARRANT WEDNESDAY. Well, today's her day!

This WARRANT WEDNESDAY features NICHOLE MURPHY, the passenger who ran from a traffic stop and has yet to turn herself in. When you’re as familiar with the police as Nichole, running only postpones the inevitable.

How did she manage to apply lipstick before her mugshot? LOL and by the way the color is terrible. Doesn't match her skin tone at all.. 😁😁

Keep up the good work Lara Fening-Moore, I really enjoy your weekly posts. :)

This is my cousIn. Lol

Andrew Vadnais😂

This in an old picture of her.

Big surprise lol

It’s sad honestly. It’s not even funny. I hate seeing my aunt like this.

Some ppl never learn!

Wow! Shaming is not the intent of these posts. Maybe they should be posted with comments disabled?

I fully agree she should be arrested. She’d be better off but getting on here and making fun of her isn’t necessary. She’s my aunt and regardless of what she does I love her I’m not happy with her but I love her.

Well she’s my cousin and I say throw her ass in jail and leave her there for a few YEARS quit letting her out. Butler county Warren county marysville prison all revolving doors for this one .::. She needs help for her drug addiction now before it’s too late.

I'm kinda jealous they didn't post my pic back in the day when I had warrants but then again I don't think Facebook was around lol

She comes into the store all the time. Lol

WEEKEND UPDATE:
> Oxford Fire Department had 36 EMS calls, 15 of which were alcohol/drug related. There were 10 fire calls.
> A fake $100 bill was exchanged as currency at a bar. On one side of the bill it reads, “In Mom We Trust.” That, and many other ridiculous clues to its total lack of authenticity, led an employee to take a second look at it and then call police. A 19 year old male was charged as a result.
> Several car break-ins on the south side of town. In one car, a paper with social security numbers was stolen. Keep that personal information hidden and for your eyes only! Lock those doors and remove all valuables.
> Another credit monitoring company identified a fraudulent account opened in this complainant’s name. This thief had credit cards, a phone contract, and a house lease taken out in his name. Fortunately, the victim was notified promptly and is able to start the dispute of the charges sooner, rather than later.
> A Google Voice phone number was used to text in an attempt to scam a mother out of $5000 while her daughter was being held hostage. The mother immediately called to verify the whereabouts of her daughter, who was perfectly fine. This type of scam is often attempted with older folks. Always verify the family member’s whereabouts before falling prey to these scammer’s crazy claims!
> A medium sized cooler was stolen off of a porch. It had elaborate designs and artwork painted on it, as it was made to be given as a gift. This should be pretty easy to spot, so if you see something like this, let the OPD know and we’ll check it out.
> A 46 year-old male was told to leave the hotel where he had been hanging out and eating the complimentary food. After refusing to leave, the police were called and arrested him. He had a used needle (that wasn’t his, of course) in his sock.
> Does one shot of vodka make you forget your birthday? A female, who was vomiting on the sidewalk after “one shot of vodka” and then stopped by police, was insistent that she was 17 years old even though her license read that she was 18. It took a little nudging, but it finally dawned on her that she is actually 18, and has been for TEN months. Not sure how big that shot was.
> Just an added note: dismissing the police and saying that the contraband items found IN YOUR POCKETS are not yours, and then expecting us to just believe it—that’s not really going to work for us.
> A 20 year old female was cited after presenting a fake ID to the bar staff. Police verified she was accompanied by her mother. Yes, her mother was there when she presented the fake ID.

**Because we need all the help we can get on Mondays, here’s a cool quote: “Monday is the perfect day to correct last week’s mistakes.”** Have a great week, everyone!

there is a blabk truck that speeds up and down west high street 5 to 6 times a day wish someone will get him he just went up the street

Am I wrong that a minor can consume in the present of a parent? Couldn’t they have avoided that by mom doing the purchasing since she was there? Note: Mine are 21 and 24 and neither had fakes so this was never an issue for us and this could be total bs. Just something I have heard and wondering if it’s accurate.

Always entertaining

That mom is probably one of those that you hear whining about how THEIR child never does anything wrong when she gets dropped off for College.

The mom/fake ID story? You can't be serious!

Thanks as always, parenting seems to be in question as much as the ignorance of the “students”.

But really, "in mom we trust" ought to be on our dollar bills, I think!

Samantha Bettinger

Alex Harris - the birthday shot

Ahhh yeah... To not live in a college party town anymore.

Hilarious antics onHigh Street! What a great book these stories would make!🤪

In Mom we trust to take her daughter to a bar, so she can try out her fake ID!

Great Report as usual!

Oxford is the best, best community! Most communities would have far worst stories!!
