The two women were detained in Montana, in a small town near the border with Canada. On a cell phone recording, the agent told the women that he asked for their IDs because speaking Spanish is "very unheard of up here.” (via HuffPost)

When asked why they were being questioned, the two women were told that they were speaking Spanish in a state that's "predominantly English-speaking."
